Dr. Meital Gal-Tanamy graduated from the Sackler School of Medicine at Tel-Aviv University in Israel and then completed post-doctoral fellowship in the Department of Virology and Immunology at the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) under the supervision of Prof. Stanley Lemon.

In 2011 Dr. Gal-Tanamy joined the establishing team of the new Faculty of Medicine of Bar-Ilan University in Israel as an assistant professor. Her laboratory focuses on the dynamics between the viral modulations of epigenetic and genomic changes of the host chromatin, HCV-mediated HCC, the viral genome and the immune system.
